JST ASPIRE Kyoto Workshop 2025

With the long-term goal of laying the foundation of a novel artificial intelligence that will be perceived by a human user as embodying thoughtful warmness and compassion, we have been establishing an international collaborative platform for deriving a foundational model of people that can be used to visually understand not just the external appearance but also the internal states of diverse people in their natural behavior. Based on deep and wide international collaborations through data capture and modeling by the Japanese and US teams consisting of world leaders in related research, and by involving researchers from around the world we intend to create a Japanse-bourne international research community and establish Japan as the epicenter of this next-generation AI research. As part of these efforts, we invite graduate students from across the country to attend this workshop filled with talks by our outstanding collaborators and discussions with them and their students. We hope this workshop will inspire attending students and serve as a launching pad for their research careers.
